31 weeks, 4 days

I met with maternal-fetal medicine today at 1:30.  I met with the nurse and also a nutritionist.  Turns out even though I have celiac, I am still eating way to many carbs!  One banana counts as 2 carbs and out of the 12 carbs I am allowed a day, 8 of which are just in bananas!!!  It was refreshing to have such kind people helping me and going over all the information.  I feel confident that by re-balancing my diet and testing my blood sugars 4 times daily that everything will work out just fine.  Especially with this amazing team following up with everything, along with my OB.  Chris will remain my dr, but the specialist will co-manage my treatment and will also be there for delivery.

The nurse went through all the risks for me and the baby by having GD.  I feel better about it than I did initially, but I still have some concern for Leah.  I just want her to be healthy now and at her birth.  The drs will take great care of her, I just pray that she is healthy and no health issues.  The biggest issue they explained was immature lungs.  With the excess weight, the lungs tend to get underdeveloped.  Regardless of what happens, the Lord will get us through.  I need to stop worrying so much, but I feel so much love for my little girl that I will do anything within my power and God's to keep her healthy and happy!

The nurse assured me that since my initial fasting glucose when I took the 3hr test was within range, I do not have diabetes or any form and truly only have gestational diabetes while pregnant.  I will get re-tested 6-12 weeks after delivery and sounds like the high sugars will go away on their own.

I have an ultrasound scheduled for Thursday, August 26 to weigh baby and to meet with the specialists.  I am to test my blood sugars 4 times a day and meet with the nutritionist and nurse tuesday and thursday.
