On Sunday, May 14, Dave, Zoe and I took Leah to the therapy pool. This was her first time swimming in a pool! She loved it! I thought she would react as happily as she does in the bath, but she was crazy happy in the pool! She splashed and splashed! Kicked, smiled, squealed! Zoe and Dave bopped her little body in the water. She loved every minute of it! She was VERY tired but she didn't cry at all. She just got her red eyebrows and slowed down alot. She was so sweet and it was amazing seeing her so excited and happy.
She is playing peek-a-boo with us now! This morning while making bottles for the sitter, I had Leah on the kitchen floor and she was messing with her exersaucer. Everytime I'd look at her she'd have this HUGE grin on her face and I'd laugh. I finally realized what she was doing!! She was crouching down with just her eyes peaking over the ledge and then when I'd look, she'd pop her little head all the way up. Then she's start laughing! It is so cute!
She's saying ba ba ba baa baa this week and is making elephant noises.:) Constantly!
first time in a shopping cart
She's picking up speed with her crawling. Room to room, trying to get the cat, following me around. She is also pulling herself up on EVERYTHING. It is super cute, but I am terrified that she will do it in those moments when I am not looking and fall on her head.:( Thankfully that hasn't happened but it makes me so nervous!!
helping with the laundry:)
Since she does crawl now, it is helpful in the mornings. I can put her in the bathroom, living room, kitchen floor and have her play and scoot around while I am getting ready for work. I don't have to 'entertain' her or watch her like a hawk in case she'd roll off the bed. She watches me get ready and plays with her toys, laughs and smiles. It makes mornings so enjoyable. I love having that time to spend with her!waving!!
Rudy's been waving this week! Heather has really been working with her and when she sees new people, she waves to them! It is so precious!
She's been eating alot more this week too-- an extra 6 oz or so. I think she's going through a growing spurt because she has been getting up at night wanting to EAT. It took me acouple days to figure out that she is HUNGRY! I was just breastfeeding a bit then trying to put her back down, but she truly wants a whole big bottle. Why do I always forget that true crying at night means hungry?!?! This lasted about 5 days and now last night she slept straight through the night, woke up at 5 for breastfeeding and then went back to sleep for another hour until 6:15.
By 8:00, she is beat. I don't have to swaddle and 'bop' her to sleep lately. We have a pretty good routine (bottle, change diaper, pjs, lotion with bedtime cream, probiotic and vitamin D drops, read Goodnight Moon, cuddle while watching baby first tv and then nurse) Well, this week, she falls asleep during our cuddle time! It is so precious and loving and I truly think it may be the best thing in the entire world! She's usually out by 8 and I can lie there and watch the Waltons and then lay her in her pack-n-play with the stereo static on.
