19 weeks

I had a Drs appointment today at 4:30.  Dave was unable to go with me because he had a liver biopsy in the morning at UTMC.  He was in a lot of pain and I felt so bad for him.  Luckily, the procedure went well; they took two samples and prayerfully, they can figure out what is wrong with him.

I weigh 170, up 4 pounds since my last visit 5 weeks ago, making a grand total of 15 pounds gained.  I don't feel like I look heavier anywhere by my stomach and thighs.  The very first thing the nurse checked was baby's heartbeat.  She heard it right away and she said it was very strong!!!  It is so amazing to hear that heartbeat!!  And it makes me feel so much more relieved.  The nurse took my blood pressure, 130/80, which was lower than last time (she said it was 136/82).

My doctor came in and looked over my blood work which was fine, and wants me to do the 24 hr urine and 1 hr glucose test this Monday so she can have a baseline.  She checked my stomach and said my uterus is right at my bellybutton which is 'right where it should be'.  She checked my ears because I have been having sore throat and earaches for about 6 weeks.  She said I have an ear infection and prescribed me ammoxicilin for 7 days.  She wants me to come in in two weeks just to check my ears.  She also said if I choose to use bug spray to only use sparingly and without deet.

I scheduled a re-check with her on June 3 for my ears and scheduled my ultrasound on June 17.  My doctor wants an ultrasound every visit from then on out.  She also wants another urine and glucose at 28 weeks and a non-stress test done at 32 weeks.

Around 10:00 at night, Dave and I were lying in bed, watching tv, and I just commented how I haven't been able to feel the baby from the outside yet.  I laid my hand there, and I FELT IT!!!!  Dave immediately put his hand on my belly and he felt it too!!!  Little one kicked for about 10 minutes!!  It was so strong the kick and soo exciting!!  We were both so happy and in the morning, Dave even wrote me a note before work saying he was so happy to feel jellybean kick and move!:o)
