Visiting Family - Weekend Getaway June 8-9, 2013

26 months / 5 months

Rudy - 26 months

Max and Ruby!  Everything is Max and Ruby!  Her favorite thing right now!

She is growing right before our eyes!  She is miss independent!  She feeds herself, puts her hat and coat on, takes her shoes off, puts on her jammies, brushes her teeth, all by herself.  Well, with alittle help from mama and daddy.  She cracks us up at the things she says and how adorably stinky she is.  So nurturing and caring toward us and her brother, but sneaky and naughty at the same time that little roo.

Ward - 5 months

Little man is doing so much at just 5 months old!  He is sitting up on his own, ate solids for the first time (pork) on December 11 and is laughing up a storm!  He scoots in circles while laying on his belly on the floor, he LOVES his red ball and is just as affectionate with the little teether bunny that was once his big sister's.  The exersaucer is another hit as he spins himself around to see all that is going on.  He loves to watch his sister play and dance around.  Her squeels and screams seem to get him just as excited as her.

Nighttime is not predictable.  A few nights he was sleeping through the night.  Other nights he insists on being held the whole night.  Other nights he feeds up to four times!  We'll get there, but hopefully soon!

He eats like a champ!  Six-Seven oz bottles three to four times while at Heathers and gets at least three more times with me before bedtime.  He goes to bed around 9, sometimes much earlier-- usually if I am holding him and Leah while watching Max & Rudy at 7:30-- the rocking and coziness knocks him right out.

24 months/15 weeks

Over the weekend, on Saturday, we went with Deb to the Witzler Shank Fall Festival.  The kids got emergency IDs, saw a juggler, Leah had a pumpkin face painted on her and met Happy the Clown.  Leah was a bit scared at first, but then calmed down, and told Happy, 'Hi!'  She's so brave.  She got an elephant and Ward got a pumpkin on a stick.  They petted a pony, rabbit and guinea hen-- Leah ran right up to the guinea hen:)  Then Leah sat in a Sheriff car and saw a fire truck.  We picked up the kids pumpkins and went out to eat at China Buffet.

A few weeks back the littles were sick-- Leah has a fever of 101 and a rash on her back, chest and neck.  Little man had a lowgrade fever too-- 99.6.  Dr thought all was fine, but initially concerned because she had had her MMR and chickenpox vaccine 11 days earlier.  Brother man got the rest of his 2 month vaccines.

With the beautiful fall weather, we've been walking to the park acouple times a week after work.  Leah loves playing on 'her' playground and little man is snug as a bug in my carrier.

Leah - 24 months
Leah is such a ball of energy!  Loves playing at the park, and being outside in general!

Leah is peeing on the potty so well this month!  We have switched to pull-ups and have been putting her on the potty every 20 minutes or so.  She still isn't pooping on the potty, nor is she telling us she has to go potty.  We will get there!  We are so proud of her!

Leah is eating so well by herself and is even helping out around the house-- putting things away especially.

She is talking in 7-8 word sentences and talks up a storm!  She even corrects us when we say the wrong word or phrase!  She is one smart cookie that Leah!

The trains have been waking her up in the middle of the night and for some reason, she is unable to go back to sleep after that happens.  It has been a long few weeks for daddy and I!

When she feeds her baby, she puts it up to her bellybutton to 'feed the baby' - we die!

Ward - 15 weeks
Little man sits up on his own!  Last night, at 15 weeks exactly, I was sitting on the floor with him between my legs, leaning on my stomach, going through clothes.  He pulled himself up, stayed there, then put his right hand on my knee to help support himself.  It was the cutest thing I've ever seen!  That little bean sitting up, looking around!  Can't get enough of that little ferdy!

Ward is so good in restaurants!  We put him in the old infant carrier and he sits and watches and smiles:)

He is sitting in his bumbo and just getting used to his johnny jump-up.  Doesn't jump, but does move his feet and push off to where it starts to turn.  Loves tummy time-- doesn't cry with that either!  Just starting to hold his wooby-- so sweet to see him pick it up and shove it in his face:o)

He LOVES getting a bath-- smiles and coos through the whole thing!  He also loves getting his diaper changed!  I don't think he's cried once during a diaper change!  He loves when you take care of him.  He also loves his vitamin D drops-- sucks them right down!

Still blowing bubbles and drooling like crazy.  No sign of teeth yet though.

Been reading both kids books at the same time-- he looks right at the pictures and is so content.

Just starting to really want to be with us-- if he can't see us, he'll fuss.  He is happy by either moving him so he can see or picking him up.

Sleeping pretty well, but recently, last two weeks or so, wakes multiple times during night to feed and wants held-- I end up sleeping with him and nursing him while lying down in a droggy haze.

19 months

Rudy saw her first rainbow yesterday, May 9, after multiple hard but quick showers.  Dave called to say 'go outside and look', and she just loved it!  She didn't want to go inside!  When we did, she kept saying 'byebye' and pulling me to the door and saying 'rainbow'!

Leah is now in the 'Why' stage!:o) Everything is 'Why?!" Too cute!

She is growing by leaps and bounds and I swear she's gained 10 pounds and 5 inches in the last week!  She looks and talks like such a big girl!  At her appt on May 26, she weighed 27 pounds.

She's been doing this for months, but sadly saying 'hold me'.  It is the sweetest thing ever!

Eating has become a bit trickier-- a bit more picky and will not let me feed her!:)

Leah sings 'Twinkle twinkle little star' and will even hum it.

Coloring is the favorite activity lately.  The ipad has been used frequently too-- she can even access her favorite apps and will play for 20+ minutes on her own!

18 months

In the morning before going to Heather's, I checked the news to see the weather.  We sat together on the couch and cuddled watching the news.  When over, I switched to her baby first tv shows and she smiled so big and said 'Thanks!'

Dave hooked up Leah's bike seat on his bike!  She LOVES going for bike rides with him and Zoe.

We put up her play kitchen in our kitchen and she constantly plays with it!  While I'm cooking or cleaning, she is mimicking me and having me try some of her creations.  Her favorite is using the silverware and her 'egg'.

On April 29, she sat on her new potty before her bath and PEED!!  Her first pee in the potty!!:o)

17 months

Getting so big!  Wears almost all 2T shirts and most pants.  Eating most meals herself-- will rarely let me feed her with a spoon.  She insists on feeding herself with a fork.  She's getting so good at it!  Had some adjustments with daylight savings time, but she is sleeping through the night very well!

We have been doing this for a long long time now, but whenever Rudy steps behind the lace curtains in the living room, I sing the wedding march (dun dun dundun) and now she intentionally gets behind the curtain and sings her own wedding march!  It is so incredibly sweet!  She will be the most beautiful bride someday!

16 months

Told Heather, 'Want down now' after she was done eating lunch

Rudy now says "Hi"-- for some reason it cracks me up because it just sounds like a big person saying Hi!:)
She takes her baby doll or curious george doll, waves their hand and says 'Hi!' or when by the front door, says, 'Bye!'

Will say 'Wet' when pees and 'Butt' when poops

Says 'hippo' :)

Will yell 'MOM" when really really wants my attention:)  Normally only says mama:)

Yesterday, she climbed up into my lap while sitting in the recliner and let me 'baby' cuddle her for almost a half hour!  She must of missed me!

When I find something I've been looking for, I guess I must say 'oh, there it is!' alot because now little Roo says it!:)  Soo so cute!

15 months

Saw ultrasound of Ferdy, I said it was a baby, she cradled it in her arm and starting 'bopping' it-- I melted!

I told her bye-bye sweet baby and she started rubbing my belly!

Extremely independent this month.  Will rarely eat with me feeding her--- has to hold the spoon/fork and do it all herself.  Mostly unsuccessfully, but boy she sure tries!

Loves to read 'Good Night Gorilla' and laughs uncontrollably at the sneaky gorilla

Has officially outgrown every piece of 12 month clothes and fits way too well in 2T!

Has been waking at night and since teething and having a chest cold, I've been taking her to bed with me.  Need to break her of this soon!

11 weeks

I think I've been feeling baby Ferdy for a full week now!  It is so exciting to me!  This pregnancy feels alot different than the last.  Much more sick, almost feels like the flu constantly, achy stomach and constipation.  I hear every pregnancy is different, so that must be why.  I am loving that we are having a baby, but eager to feel like my old self.  Last week for three days, I felt great.  No nausea, no vomiting-- I felt wonderful!  Able to sit and read to Rudy, clean the entire house-- only felt tired-- not exhausted.  I am certainly not complaining-- I'll take whatever is thrown at me-- knowing I will soon have a precious wonderful baby in my arms to raise and love.
